The Boyfriend Jean

I have a complicated relationship with boyfriend jeans. I think they are so cute and super trendy. But, it took me a long time to purchase a pair, and actually wear them. Every time I tried them on, I felt they looked weird and awkward. Like, my thighs were just too big to “pull them off”. I finally realized how stupid I was being. There is no “pulling” anything off. You wear what you wear because it makes you and and only you happy. And man, I really wanted these jeans. They’re comfy, and make me happy. I think I look great in them, and that is what matters most. So, if there is any thing you want to wear and you’re hesitant, just do it. Don’t worry about “pulling it off”, or it not being your “style.” You will pull it off if it makes you happy and it will be your style as soon as you put it on. Fashion isn’t supposed to be exclusive to certain genres. Fashion should be switched around and played with. Simply, follow one rule: love what you wear.

Boyfriend jeans are huge in the fashion world right now, and have been since late summer. They’ll be a trend for awhile, because A) they’re comfy and b) they’re very versatile. You can pair these with heels to make them chic or with some converse to keep them more street style. So, here’s how I styled them:

I went for more of an effortless, street look. I knew I wanted to pair them with my black chucks, so I based the rest of the outfit around those. I threw on a loose striped shirt, my moms old leather jacket, and topped it off with a blanket scarf for warmth.

** New blog schedule: I will be posting at least once a week. Sometimes I may post more than that, but you can count on one post every week. This semester is super busy for me, so I’m trying my best to keep up with my blog. Thank you for your support!
