I know we’ve all had those days where we’re rushing out the door or we just don’t feel like putting the time and effort into a full hoe face. Whether you want to look more put together or need to cover up any blemishes, here are eight steps to help you achieve a quick & simple makeup look!
Step 1. Primer– This one by Rimmel London is a mattifying primer for those who have oily skin (like me). If you don’t have oily skin then you probably don’t need a primer. But, I find that using a BB cream as a foundation really causes me to get oily a lot faster, so a primer is a must for me. This is a step that I could never skip.
Step 2. Foundation– I’ll usually grab for a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer on these days. They even out my skin but don’t feel heavy at all!
Step 3. Concealer– Adding this under your eyes will make you look more awake and cover your dark circles. I usually dab this on any redness or blemish the BB cream didn’t cover up.
Step 4. Powder– Now, there are two ways you can do this. One, you can skip the BB cream if you don’t feel you need it. Just conceal and set with translucent powder, then you can go in with a powder foundation. Or two, use the BB cream. Then you can set under your eyes or any where you feel you get the most oily, with translucent power and then add the powder foundation to give you even more coverage. If you favor method one, I suggest using a denser brush to apply the powder foundation to give the best coverage. If you’re leaning more towards option two, which is the one I do, use the powder foundation with a fluffy powder brush to a) eliminate cake face and b) to prevent the BB cream from moving around. (Powder foundation)
NOTE* Using the Matte formula powder foundation is best for oily skin. Use the original formula if you have combo to normal skin. I wouldn’t suggest the powder foundation if you’re super dry, just use the BB cream and set your T-zone if you feel necessary.
Step 5. Blush– Skip bronzer and contouring on these days, all you need is a pinky simmery blush and you’re good to go!
Step 6. Mascara– Obviously a must, especially if you’re opting for no eye shadow. This is my holy grail mascara and it’s super cheap and wonderful and I love it. Seriously try it!
Step 7. Brows– Personally, I can’t skip brows. But, I don’t want to spend the time filling them in completely. So, something like this with fibers will thicken my brows and give them definition. If this product is a bit pricy for you, L’Oreal has a product called the Brow Stylist Plumper that has fibers and will do exactly what the Benefit product does. Also, Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara is really affordable!
Step 8. Lips– I’ve really really really been loving the darker nude lip liner with a lighter lip stick! It’s super 90’s and I find it really polishes off my look. Mac Lip Pencil in Spice is perfect for this look. But, if you don’t want to invest that much in a lip liner, Jordana Cosmetics has the perfect dupe in Rock N’ Rose. NYX Butter Lipstick in Fun Size literally gives me life. I love this lip for this look, it’s moisturizing but really long lasting. It’s my go-to lip color for these days and probably one of my favorite nude lips out there. I highly recommend this!
That’s it! Those eight steps and you’re ready for the day! Hope this helped!
