Hey y’all! I hope everyone truly did have a good summer. As of today, I have a week left of my summer break and I’m ready to have a steady routine back into my life. Not quite sure if I’m ready for the pressure of school work but oh well. Anyways here are the products that got me through the long hot month of August. BTW from now on when I talk about certain products, I will be linking them through Amazon. I joined their affiliate program, so if you’re not comfortable with that, I totally understand. Not every product (i.e certain fashion pieces) I link will be through Amazon, but if it is I will always disclose at the bottom of my blog posts.
Sleek Makeup Highlighter Palette in Solstice (amazon link)– Y’ALL. This palette has made all of my highlighting dreams come true. I know you’re probably tired of hearing me go on and on about the glow but I truly think I’ve found my favorite product. I usually layer on the shades “Hemisphere” and “Equinox” as a base over my blush and then I go in with a smaller brush and apply the shade “Subsolar”. It creates such a beautiful glow.
MUA Professional Fan Brush– This is the first fan brush I’ve owned and I’m in love. I’ve always wanted to try using one for my highlighter but I could never find an affordable one. I saw this at CVS for twelve bucks and I couldn’t pass it up. It doesn’t put on too much product and creates a subtle sheen. Which is why I usually have to go in with a smaller brush over top for a more intense glow. But I still love the way this brush lays down product.
MUA Professional Crease Brush– I love eye brushes and really any makeup brush, to be honest. I picked this one up because I have a few fluffy crease brushes (because they’re my favorite) but I didn’t have a smaller more defining crease brush. It really has made blending out multiple colors and adding dimension a dream. This fits perfectly in my crease and concentrates color right where I need it to. I use it every day and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Essence Make Me Brow in Blonde (amazon link but it retails for $2.99 in store!!)- So my go-to brow product was the Benefit gimmie brow and I even mentioned it in my Summer Makeup Routine. That product retails for $24.00 on average and it honestly doesn’t last that long. I find that it dries out super quick but I kept purchasing it because I couldn’t find a product that performed the same way. Well after doing some research on Reddit, a few users mentioned that Essence had this really amazing brow product and I just knew I had to try it. I am so glad I did because the formula is amazing. It’s not as dry as Benefit’s but I find that it’s a lot easier to work with. It has the same thickening fibers and makes all of my brow dreams come true.
American Eagle Hi-Rise Festival Shorts– Okay so I know I’m not the only one who struggles to find the perfect pair of shorts. Especially high rise shorts. Usually, they fit perfect in my thighs but they gap in the waist or vice versa. But man these shorts from AEO fit me so good and they’re so comfy. I got them late in the season because I knew they’d be on sale and I really lucked out by finding these in store. I highly recommend these shorts if you’re struggling to find a well fitting pair. Here’s a shameless promo of these shorts.
To Watch (on Netflix)
Stranger Things- Do I need to say more? This series was amazing and I, like everyone else, can’t wait for the next installment.
“I can’t afford to hate anyone, I don’t have that kind of time.” -Akira Kurosawa
“I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart: I am, I am, I am.” -Slyvia Plath
“hey just so u know I’m here for the girls who have slept with people who they didn’t like and girls who look back on old hook ups and feel gross. girls who have slept with people because they needed the sexual validation but had bad experiences or wished that thy hadn’t gone near those people. girls who found out how bad the people were after the fact. the character of your hookups doesn’t reflect your character. you’re all wonderful and I’m here for u” –Source
